Observing humanity
The coffee automat at work has, because of wear and tear over time, lost central pieces of hardware. It has come to a situation where you have to hold you coffeemug at a precise angle and at a precise height to get most of the liquid to the right location. And even then you only have a 50/50 percent chance of not getting your hands sprayed with boiling hot water… But even with this clear and present danger, people still go and try their luck, instead of taking the stairs up to the upper floor where the better and perfectly safe coffee maker sits.

Selecting a random file
Reason: I have a recurring calendar event, reminding me to test our backup. I do this by restoring one of our websites from tape, run a few tests on it and then delete it again.
To be fair :) and a little safer, I didn’t want to restore the same website over and over again. So random selection it is!
I found this elegant solution:
